Judge McCord will be hosting a campaign rally at his headquarters on Tuesday, October 30th at 7:30 pm. Headquarters is located at 58 School Street in downtown Glen Cove.
October 1, 2012, Glen Cove, NY ... On this beautiful, early fall evening, supporters went to the Tavern on the Plaza to offer Richard J. McCord their best wishes and encouragement. Onlookers gathered indoors and outdoors to listen as the evening’s organizers, Ben Farnan and Eugene Merkel greeted Glen Cove citizens and local officials and welcomed everyone to the fundraiser.
Farnan remarked upon the Honorable Judge McCord's long history of service to the community, and introduced Senator Carl Marcellino. Marcellino also expressed his support of the Honorable Judge McCord, recognizing the Judge's service to the Glen Cove city court and to the community.
The event was very well attended and as his supporters applauded, the Honorable Judge McCord acknowledged the help of so many dedicated Glen Covers, with a special thanks to his wife, Maryann and daughters, Courtney and Amanda.
The Honorable Judge McCord is proud to have earned the endorsement of the Glen Cove Republican Party, the Independence Party and the Conservative Party.

Since the Independence Primary on September 13th, I have tried to reach out personally to as many of you as I could to thank you for your support. I just wanted to make sure I let all of you know how much I appreciate your overwhelming vote of confidence in the primary.

September, 2012, Glen Cove, NY … On Sunday, September 9th, Glen Cove's Downtown was once again host to the Gold Coast Concours. Hundreds of spectators were on hand to view the exotic cars, listen to music and simply enjoy the beautiful late-summer afternoon.
Proceeds from this exciting event, which is sponsored by Martino Auto Concepts of Glen Cove, benefit the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI).

September, 2012, Glen Cove, NY … In an unusually large turnout, Hon. Richard J. McCord garnered close to 80% of the vote in the Thursday, September 13th Independence Primary election. The sweeping victory ensures that Hon. Richard J. McCord receives the Independence Party designation on the ballot in the November election for Glen Cove City Court Judge.
The Hon. Richard J. McCord earned the endorsement of the Independence Party last spring. According to Executive Director of the Nassau Independence Party, “On behalf of the Nassau Independence Party, I am pleased to let you know that this Spring, 2012, the Independence Party enthusiastically endorsed the Hon. Richard J. McCord, giving him our party's official designation in the election for Glen Cove City Court Judge.”
The victory overwhelmingly confirms the support of the Independence Party and its members. Additionally, the Hon. Richard McCord has received the endorsement of both the Republican and the Conservative parties.
The Hon. Richard J. McCord has served the City of Glen Cove as its elected Supervising Judge since 1995 and as the City’s appointed Associate Judge from 1988 – 1995, earning accolades city, county and state wide for his firm yet fair approach to justice. August 16, 2012, Glen Cove, NY ... It was standing room only as supporters of the Honorable Richard J. McCord, Glen Cove's Supervising City Court Judge, gathered for the grand opening of the re-election campaign headquarters on Thursday evening, August 16th. With onlookers watching through the open front door as well as from the crowded back room, the chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the Honorable Richard J. McCord, John Chase, welcomed the large audience of Glen Cove citizens, local officials and fellow judges.
Chase remarked upon the Honorable Judge McCord's long history of service to the community, beginning with his role as Deputy Mayor in 1980-1983 and his rise to the bench in 1988. Since then, said Chase, the Honorable Judge McCord has been well-known for bringing a tough but fair hand to justice in Glen Cove. Chairman of the Glen Cove Republican Committee, Paul Meli spoke about the Honorable Judge McCord's dedication to the youth of our community as the founder of the Teen Court program, youth mentor, junior team coach and YMCA leader.
Senator Carl Marcellino also expressed his support of the Honorable Judge McCord, describing the Judge's life-long commitment to every facet of the Glen Cove community as unparallelled.
As his supporters stood to offer their encouragement and applause, the Honorable Judge McCord rose to acknowledge the help of so many dedicated Glen Covers, with a special thanks to his wife, Maryann and daughters, Courtney and Amanda, who sat in the front row.

Glen Cove, NY, May, 2012 ...The Committee to Re-Elect Judge Richard J. McCord is pleased to announce that Honorable Richard J. McCord is seeking re-election for a 4th term as Glen Cove's supervising city court judge.
Recognized throughout the Glen Cove community as the judge “you know, respect and trust”, Honorable Richard J. McCord has been the face of firm, fair justice in the City of Glen Cove since 1995. Well-known for his belief that “education is the best form of crime prevention”, Judge McCord has dedicated his career to the youth of Glen Cove and beyond. In 2000 he introduced and implemented the first Teen Court Program in Nassau County, in which local high school students are trained to act as judges, attorneys and jurors on actual cases involving teenaged defendants accused of low-level crimes. This highly successful program is designed to help young people develop respect and understanding for the law at an early age.
He has been a long-time participant in the Long Island Mentoring Program including its Shadow Day program in which young people are given a firsthand opportunity to see the Court in action. Judge McCord also participates in criminal justice classes at the local high schools, often speaking to students about the legal process, the criminal justice system and the Teen Court. All of these programs are aimed at educating young people about our legal system.
Judge McCord’s dedication and expertise over the past twenty-five years of service at the City Court as Supervising Judge since 1995 and Assistant City Court Judge from 1988 to 1994 have made it one of the finest courts in Nassau County. His accomplishments have included updating record keeping procedures through implementation of a new computer system, and the complete re-organization and modernization of the scofflaw system for the enforcement of parking violations and New York State vehicle and traffic infractions. He conducts lecture series’ on developments and changes in the law for residents. Additionally, he created a partnership with the Glen Cove Beautification Commission, The Glen Cove Animal Lover’s League and other local organizations so that defendants sentenced to community service would render it for the benefit of the citizens of Glen Cove.
Outside the Court, Judge McCord is a well known-bankruptcy attorney and a partner in the law firm of Certilman, Balin, Adler & Hyman, LLP. In 2011, he was named Volunteer of the Year by the YMCA of Long Island, as well as Volunteer of the Year for the YMCA at Glen Cove for the years 1994 and 2003. Judge McCord was selected Person of the Year for Glen Coves’ annual “Night Out Against Violence” in 2010. He is married to Maryann, formerly Merkel and they are proud to have raised their two daughters, Courtney and Amanda, here in Glen Cove.
